Notes & Special Techniques
Specialized Stitch Guides & Notes ▪ Cord Preparation: Pull a small amount of the inner center core out from the tip of the cord and cut it away. This flattens the cord end and makes it much easier to hide. Do this at the start of the project and every time you join a new skeing. ▪ Invisible Join: 1. Pull up a long loop from your working yarn and remove your hook. 2. Insert your hook from back to front through the first stitch of the round. 3. Place the long working loop onto your hook and pull it through to the inside of the basket. 4. Insert your hook from the outside of the basket directly through the center 'v' of that very first stitch. 5. Yarn over and pull a loop through to the front. 6. Insert your hook back into the loop sitting on the inside of the basket. 7. Yarn over and pull through both loops on your hook. This completes the join and counts as the first stitch of your next round. ▪ Waistcoat Stitch (wst): Instead of working under the top two loops, insert your hook directly through the center 'v' shape of the stitch from the previous round (working from front to back). Yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through both loops.
