Notes
Invisible Join Tail Preparation: To measure the exact length of yarn needed for your invisible join string, crochet a chain of 13 ch (this matches the number of rows planned for the basket). Leave a little extra yarn at the end for weaving in later, and cut the yarn. Unravel this chain completely. You will use this loose piece of yarn as your independent tail string to close every round seamlessly. Set it aside. Note: The invisible join naturally moves the closure 1 stitch to the right every row. If you want the seam to end exactly at the foot of the basket, count the holes backward (one hole per planned row) from your desired finishing point to determine exactly which hole to start in.
Waistcoat Stitch (csc): Crocheting directly between the two vertical threads (the "V") of the stitch below, instead of the top loops. Always check the back of your work to ensure the hook exits cleanly between the two threads on the reverse side.
Joining New Yarn: When a skein runs out, leave a short tail. Take the new skein and leave a short tail. Insert the hook into the next stitch, pull a loop of the new yarn through, then yarn over with the long working yarn of the new skein and complete the stitch.
