Abbreviations (us terms)

ch: chain sc: single crochet sl st: slip stitch csc: center single crochet (waistcoat stitch) st(s): stitch(es) rnd: round

Notes

Double Strands: The yarn is held double for the entire pattern (except for the final Finishing Round) to give the basket rigid support. Curves: Do not make any increases around the curved edges of the wooden base. Center Single Crochet (csc): Also known as the waistcoat stitch. Instead of inserting the hook under the top two loops, insert it straight through the center "V" of the single crochet from the previous round. Seamless Join: To avoid a visible seam, do not use a standard slip stitch to join. At the end of each round: • Pull your working loop up slightly to lengthen it. • Remove your hook from the loop. • Insert the hook from back-to-front into the first stitch of the round. • Grab the dropped loop and pull it through to the back. • ch 1 to secure.
