The first five rounds of the mug body begin with a chain 1 and end with a slip stitch to join. Rounds 6 through 17 are worked continuously in a spiral; do not join at the end of these rounds. The foam section is worked continuously in a spiral using the exposed front loops left behind on the mug body. Work your stitches tightly to prevent the stuffing cotton from showing through.
